About Us

Karen stopped wearing foundation eight years ago. This brand exists because of what happened next.

Karen is 56. She was born in Darwin and never left, and if you know the Top End, you know what that means: the sun there does not take winters off. Forty years of school runs, garden beds, mornings on the harbour and afternoons that start hot and finish hotter, all of it written, gently, across her skin. Sun spots on her cheeks. A flush that comes and goes. Patches lighter here, deeper there.

She never minded the story her skin told. What she minded was the mirror telling a different one. "You slept nine hours and it still says exhausted," as she puts it.

So she did what most of us do. She bought foundations. All of them, over the years. The pharmacy ones that turned orange by mid afternoon in the Darwin heat. The department store ones, matched under fluorescent lights by a lovely girl half her age, that looked like a mask by the time she got to the car. The expensive ones that promised luminous and delivered heavy, sitting in her pores, settling into every fine line by lunch. Each one made her look more done, and less like herself.

So, eight years ago, she stopped. Not because she stopped caring. Because nothing was made for her.

That sentence is where Renuma began.

When we started working on Renuma, we did not start in a lab or a marketing meeting. We started with Karen and women like her, and one question: why does every foundation fail skin that has lived the Australian sun? The answer turned out to be simple, and nobody was saying it. Skin like Karen's no longer has one tone. It has several. And a product with one fixed shade cannot even out a complexion that the sun has made many-toned. It was never her skin failing. It was the product's logic.

So we worked from the opposite logic: a cream with no shade at all. It goes on white, and adjusts to each area of the face as you blend, softer on the darker spots, warmer on the lighter patches. Karen tested every version, in real Darwin heat, in real bathroom light, with real fine lines, and she rejected more than she approved. Too heavy. Too shiny. Too much like the ones in her drawer. The version you can buy today is the one that passed her one test, the test that became our guarantee: look in the mirror. Do you see yourself, just rested? That is why it is called the Mirror Test, and why you get 60 days to run it on your own face, refunded if your mirror disagrees.

What we stand for

We make adaptive skin care for skin that has lived the Australian sun. And we hold ourselves to the rules Karen set from day one:

Rested, never made up. The goal is not to look done. It is to look like yourself on a good morning.

Honest about limits. Renuma adjusts across light to medium tones. It softens spots and redness; it does not erase them, and it will not pretend to. When a promise sounds like magic, someone ends up disappointed, and it will not be you, not here.

Sixty seconds, no skills. No shade charts, no tutorials, no ten-step routines. One pump, blended, done before your tea goes cold.

Your skin is not a problem to fix. Every spot has a story, usually a good one. We just quiet them down so people see you first.

Real humans, always. Every message is read and answered by a person, 24/7. No chatbots, no scripts.
